The behind-the-scenes word is that Darling Homes, a well-respected builder in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, has sold to Taylor Morrison. The builders are expected to make the official announcement early January 2013.
The family-owned builder has received numerous awards for their unique home designs over the years and just celebrated their 25th anniversary. Darling Homes was one of the first builders in McKinney’s award-winning Stonebridge Ranch and are now associated with some of the more desirable developments in North Texas. Communities like Frisco’s Newman Village, Prosper’s Whitley Place and Allen’s Star Creek.
The Darling family spent the last 25 years building homes that appeal to people from all walks of life and offering a quality not often found in production homes. Their level of custom service and attention to detail had put them in a class all by themselves.
The Taylor Morrison family of homes is the largest privately-owned home builder in North America. Darling’s decision to join this organization may prove to enhance their growth locally as well as benefit them nationally. It’s understood that the Darling Homes team will remain in place long after the transition is completed.

The land at Dallas North Tollway and US Hwy 380 was purchased in the mid-2000’s. Many people laughed at the notion that Frisco would ever place a retail shopping center at its north border. The recession slowed its progress and seemed to hold it at bay.
Well, the plans are drawn and development approved. Welcome, Frisco North. This 320-acre mixed-use project will be located on the SW corner of Dallas North Tollway and Hwy 380. The addition of this development will only help the city’s already-low tax base. Frisco is currently in the top 15 in the state of Texas of sales tax revenue.
The 380 corridor in Collin County is about to experience major growth. The Town of Prosper will benefit greatly from Frisco North and from the highly-anticipated Gates of Prosper, which is being developed by Dallas Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones. What we see today along 380 will look unfamiliar over the next five years.
Frisco North will break ground in late 2013, early 2014 with the first buildings expected to be completed in first quarter of 2015.
