Win An iPad2 For Referring Your Family & Friends!

Win iPad2

I am excited to announce a new referral program – offered for a limited time (aren’t they all?). As you may already know, referrals are the heart of my business – and to show you just how much I appreciate the opportunity, I’ll be giving a way a brand new iPad2!

If you refer someone, anyone, to me that closes escrow by April 30, 2012 then BOTH, you and the person you referred, will be entered to win an iPad2. And that’s in addition to the $50 referral fee I always send as ‘thanks’.

Who wouldn’t want an iPad2? And if you don’t think your chances of winning aren’t good, then think again. I imagine less than 20 people will qualify for the drawing. Those aren’t bad odds! So, what have you got to lose? Start referring!! Surely you know at least one person – a friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor – who is planning to buy or sell a home.

Wait, there’s more good news – if you refer someone who is buying and selling, then you get entered twice and so do they. So what are you waiting for?…fill out the referral form today. I’ll do the rest by providing them with first-rate service!

Thank you and good luck!

Texas Lawmakers Pass House Bill 243

Texting DrivingNow it’s not only dangerous to text while driving, but also illegal in the State of Texas.

Texas lawmakers pass House Bill 243, which places a statewide ban on texting while driving. Drivers caught texting, emailing or instant messaging on their phones can be fined more than $200.

Sgt. David Tilley with the Plano Police Department said “There’s actual statistics that are proven that texting while driving is more dangerous than drunk driving.” According to distraction.gov, the government’s website for distracted driving, using a cell phone delays the driver’s reaction as much as having a blood alcohol level of .08 percent. More than 5,000 people were killed and 448,000 were injured because of distracted driving.

A public information officer for a local police department says it isn’t the least bit difficult to tell when a driver is using a cell phone.

The use of hand-held cell phones in school zones has been prohibited for several years in most North Texas areas.

QR Code Technology

We’ve been playing around with the fairly new QR Code technology ~ and we’ve decided we like it!

The scanner tag image to the left works much like a barcode at the grocery store. However, instead of using a scanner, you use your smartphone. Upload any QR Reader application, scan the code and you’ll be in business.

These tags can provide you with immediate contact information, website addresses, etc and can be used anywhere as a marketing tool. We’ve made this one link to our Lisa Birdsong Real Estate Team on Facebook. We hope you’ll scan it, visit our page and “LIKE” us while you’re there.

If you’d like to create your own QR Codes, there are many free sites out there that will let you do it. We might even try more of these out on our blog in the future. They’re kind of fun.
